Housing
The Simple Option. HSU Housing. (DEADLINE PAST. SEE OTHER OPTIONS!):
Budget Option #1. Synapsis. (requires transportation):
Synapsis, an arts center in Eureka, is offering dormitory style housing for up to 10 people for $8/night. This will be sleeping in an open dance studio with a shared kitchen and single toilet. There is no shower at Synapsis however you can make a one time payment of $5 to the University for a locker and shower access on campus. 15 minute drive. 35 minute bus (every 30 minutes). This limited option will be first come first serve To inquire about staying at Synapsis, contact Leslie Castellano at muppet33@gmail.com.
Budget Option #2. Camping. (requires transportation):
Widow White Creek RV Park has tent sites. 8 Minute Drive. 30 minute bus. $20/day for the first tent. $10/additional tent (Groups must arrive together). Showers. Portable Grills Available.
Samoa County Park. 20 minutes drive from HSU. $20/day for campsite. Coin operated showers. 25 Sites. No reservations. First come first serve. Firepit and barbecue. Walking distance to ocean. Up to 10 people. 1 week limit (maybe you can switch sites?).
DIY Option:
There are a number of places of similar cost available through AirBNB. Feel free to self organize or to organize a nice group housing situation together via this Axis in the Redwoods Housing Group on Facebook.

FOOD
There will be no food in the dining hall during Week 1!
There are local groceries and farmer's markets listed below. There are also restaurants.
Meal tickets can be purchased for all meals during Week 2.

Week 2 Meal Tickets:
The J is the HSU Dining Hall. It has won awards for food sourced as often as possible local and organic. They always have a vegetarian option and multiple meat options.
Breakfast: $8
Lunch: $10
Dinner: $13

Local Grocery Stores and Restaurants
College Creek Marketplace, right next to on campus housing, will be open during the weekdays for breakfast & lunch needs, and is a full market with deli, salad bar and coffee shop. Marketplace hours are listed below;
